In summer, Mt. Fuji becomes accessible to climb above the 5th station (~2300m). Hundreds of people climb it every day and most of them by night to reach the summit (3776m) by 5AM to enjoy, if lucky, the sunrise. The weather up there is capricious and changing but if you're lucky, the views during the ascension by night and in the morning around the crater are absolutely stunning!
